Mission Statement

The Mission Statement of this International Exchange between the Northeast, Southeast and South Central Chapters of
Wisconsin Painters & Sculptors Association and Japan on the Road is:

To promote cultural exchange and understanding of the visual arts of Wisconsin and Japan through the collaborative exhibition of artwork;

To educate our member communities (Madison, Milwaukee, Green Bay-Appleton-Neenah-West Bend adn their surrounding areas) through well publicized joint exhibitions open to the public;

To educate art students of every age through demonstrations of techniques by guest artists, by lectures offered by museum staff, local university professors or historians, or guest artists (with translators);

To provide home stays to guest artists in order to make and strengthen the bonds of friendship between our cultures and to expose our guests to the customs and traditions of our country;

To create and expand relationships among the three sponsoring WP&S chapters through the team effort required for this event;

To increase awareness of the role WP&S plays in the arts in Wisconsin;

To collaborate with all Chapters of WP&S in planning, sharing exhibit space, and participating in educational and outreach activities.
