Aqui Yamada

Aqui Yamada

Aqui Yamada, who was born in Tokyo, used to live in Tucson Arizona for almost four years when he was in school there 25 years ago. After his base back to Japan, he indispensably comes back to Tucson with his wife who met in Tucson and was also a student from Japan, once year as being like a homecoming.

He begun capturing images from the Southwest during his homecoming, starting with holding Kodak compact camera in his hands and his equipment has been getting replaced with a single-lens reflex camera unawares. A little walk on an easy trail has been also getting upgraded to a heavy walk on a moderated trail with a heavy tripod. He is a man who loves red and gold rocks, pink dusty air, a heavy sun lights and all images come from the Southwest. Those images were exhibited in a nice small gallery in Tokyo and it gave an opportunity to introduce an unknown world to everyone who has never experienced these kind of images.
