Re: Update

We continue apace. At our meeting on Saturday, August 7, there were reports from Team Leaders, the Fundraising and Field Trips Committee Chairs and lively discussion about the schedule for Exchange week, expenses we expect to incur and the creation of our budget.

The Fundraising Committee reported that many corporations are preparing budgets now and that grant application deadlines for 2005 requests are coming up fast. The committees most affected by these deadlines are: Publicity,
Field Trips, Museum Contacts and Translators (we learned Saturday that this word is used for documents and that for our purposes the word should be Interpreters.) Progress by these committees will be reported in the next Newsletter.

The Japanese artists have met. Preliminary matching of hosts and guests has been done, several artists have volunteered to do demos, workshops or lectures, and all are looking forward to the experience. Many of the artists who stayed with Madison hosts would like to do so again, but all are flexible and willing to meet our needs.

The next meeting is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 25, at the Pyramid Restaurant in Beaver Dam.

EDIT: Meeting has been changed:
East Branch of the Milwaukee Public Library on Saturday, September 25, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Then, those who wish to do so, will go across the street to the Bean & Barley for lunch.

Please plan to join the excitement. The program we are planning will be enriching for everyone.

Warmly,

Pat Holt
