Hi All,

I will be vacationing from July 19 to August 2. I have asked Michiko and Tomo to email me the results of the July 3 meeting with the Japanese artists so that I can pass the information along to you before we leave.

There seems to be some concern that very few artists will remain to be hosted besides those who plan to return to Madison to stay with former hosts. At this moment we have 14 hosts in Madison, 5 hosts in Milwaukee and
9 hosts in Green Bay. We currently have 28 artists coming from Japan (there were 30 but two have canceled and may yet be replaced). Tomo and I will need housing in Green Bay. Michiko and an interpreter will need housing in Milwaukee. Will you please distribute an email and snail mail notifying participants of these numbers, and asking them to refer to their committees table which will again be updated before our August 7 meeting in Fond du Lac.

Other news to share: The Sponsorships Committee is at work. Chair Pattie Moen is sending committee members a letter to use in contacting specific Toyota dealers for a donation or courtesy vans during the week of the exchange.

Virginia Huber, Field Trips Chair, has forwarded to me a website for your viewing pleasure. Please see www.chicago.us.emb-japan.go.jp\jic.html. Her exhibition is her reflection of our two exchanges. Two large cases will
contain memorabilia from those exchanges. How lovely.

Will you also let me know how many committee members from your area will be attend the August 7 meeting in Fond du Lac so that we can prepare? This is a great chance for them to meet and get acquainted. I'll be driving my van and will attend the state board meeting in the morning. Our meeting will start after lunch, which we'll have at the Ramada so that our meeting rooms will be free.

Thanks as always, Pat
